Thank you for all who submitted this week for my first ever Blog Carnival. The theme was simple: Christian Encouragement. I hope this edition will leave you feeling encouraged in your walk with God as we sacrifice of ourselves and learn to listen to Him.
Let’s get things rolling, shall we?
I decided to call this edition, the give and take edition. There were posts about sacrifice and giving things up and then there were posts related to free encouragement materials and remembering the greatest gift of all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lori over at Two Southern girls reflected on Lent and the things she would give up: Dr. Pepper. See her post that includes a little history on Lent as well, entitled Lent and Dr. Pepper. Speaking of sacrifices, Siobhan at A Christian Mommy has a great post about waking up early and rising to serve our families. Her insightful post is titled Morning Mommy and I think you should definitely check it out.
Bible SEO offered up a post about the Cost of Discipleship. Learn what a disciple is as well as some Bible verses that will bring you to a deeper understanding of how you can be a Disciple of Jesus Christ.
All this talk about “the cost” and “sacrifices” might leave you feeling drained. If that is the case (and I hope it isn’t!), then here is an encouraging post by Dana at Roscommon Acres for a free e-book: Developing Christian Character Through Gardening for your children. And who doesn’t like free stuff?
Last, but not least, let us not forget the most important free gift to us all, Jesus. In Him we live and move and have our being submitted a post entitled “What kind of Justice is that?“ NCSue takes a good look at how the word “justice” has taken on a new meaning in today’s culture and brings it back into focus helping us realize the power of the word and of the price paid for us on the cross. Jason Koeppe at Live2Worship offers a great post on How to hear from God. Jason writes “I’ve become convinced that we often ask God to lay out the entire plan of something and He in His infinite wisdom knows we either can’t comprehend or take it all in and so I believe He revealed to me in my life a simple strategy for difficult times when we are crying out for the full answer or full plan and He doesn’t seem to be complying. I believe sometimes He just wants us to focus on the next step.”
I hope you will check out these blogs and consider submitting some of your own for the upcoming editions. The next edition deadline is Thursday, March 11th for the March 13th Blog Carnival Submission. Thank you to all who participated this week! I look forward to seeing new posts for the next edition.
